When I think of belonging I feel comfort. I’ve gone for a very literal painting as my path has stemmed very differently to people who chose to go to university and my home has been the constant that makes me feel that I belong. My image of my home is the sun beaming through the window in summer highlighting that the space I live in is used and loved. My room faces the side the sun rises which was perfect to inspire me.

I made this comic about the studio I shared with my friend during my senior year in college. The art building, and my studio specifically, was a safe space for me and a place that I spent many of my days in. I loved being surrounded by other artists and gathering there to chat about our work, gossip, give advice, cry about our breakups, whatever it may be. I loved having a space specifically for creating art, but we did so much more than that in our studio. We even had a hopscotch on the floor, and nearly every day my friend and I would play dress to impress on Roblox together as a break from painting. I miss my studio dearly and all of my fellow studio art friends.
